Service Information
Although
the metal / ceramic crown ( porcelain fused to metal crown ) is popular
because of its strength and cosmetic, the all-ceramic crown remains
the most esthetic restoration for duplicating individual anterior
teeth. All - ceramic inlays, onlays, veneers and crowns can provide
some of the most esthetically pleasing restoration currently available.
They can be made to match natural tooth structure, and translucency.
Well-made all-ceramic restoration can be virtually indistinguishable
from unrestored natural teeth.
High-strength ceramics
The
chief disadvantage of the early all-ceramic crown was their low strength,
which limited their use to low stress situation, such as anterior teeth.More
recently, improved materials and techniques have been introduced in
an attempt to overcome the disadvantages inherent in the traditional
method. These improvement particulary the use of higher strength ceramics
and adhesives for bonding the ceramic restoration to tooth structure.
Indication
